The Importance of Social Media

Over the past two years there has been a prominent need for the use of social media within our UCLan FoundationCampus Centre and throughout the past few months there have been many changes within social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

UCLan FoundationCampus have been trying to find out ways in which we can engage prospective students, current students and tutors to enhance their learning and interactivity with each other to form a more effective communication channel.

It is important that we continue to use these sites to connect in a modern and effective way with our target audiences as it creates a better learning environment and will also give them the opportunity to meet friends and keep in contact with them before they arrive or when they leave us helping them to feel more at home during their time with us living in the UK.
Not only can they keep in contact with each other but they can keep in contact with us at UCLan FoundationCampus in terms of asking us questions, posting photographs and giving us feedback.
We are also able to organise events and post photographs on these sites in order to help build our social community throughout the Centre.
Our students really get involved with all of the content that we post on to our social media sites and it is a good way of them showing their parents and agents how they have been getting involved during their time studying with us.
Not only does this improve their English skills and team work by socialising but it enhances their ability to work with other students from different cultures all around the world.
